Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Sub I bought this sub during the Independence Day sale for a killer deal. When it arrived I was stunned at the size but i love huge loudspeakers and subs. I hooked it up and played some heavy EDM and was extremely pleased with its performance. It shakes everything! From the doors downstairs to the table and heavy cabinet upstairs. During movies when explosions and other deep sounds occur, the sub picks it up and rattles you. JBL has always been a favorite of mine and they are living up to their high reputation with this sub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Booming Sound! I just bought the ES250P Subwoofer and it sure was the finishing touch to my all JBL surround sound system. I have a very large living room and this sub will absolutely rock your world even at low volumes. As you would expect from a JBL product this sub sounds deep and clear with no distortion whatsoever. The difference this unit has made both in watching television and listening to music is noteworthy. I highly recommend this unit to anyone that wants to enhance their entertainment system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from deep bass I had a home theather then I realize they not cutting it I'm been using jbl speakers on my cars pass 16 years first was 2 1200gti and 2 t595 6x9 speaker so I wanted something loud so i buy 2 of these es250p alone with 2 es80 after using it for 4 days one of the voice coil burned even though both subs were at the same level lowest hz and maybe 1/2 on the level and from receiver sub is -20 so wasn't pushing a lot but burned no problem on sending it back and getting it fixed I hope I guess one of the voice coil was defected or something whatever the case is I was disappointed in that little bit but jbl costumer service is great they gonna fix the problem mostlikely will write another review depends on if the feedback is negative or something

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOUD CLEAN BASS! I bought this for the new year because I had wanted to add some of the low bass I was missing from my main speakers. To make a long story short I got this while it was on sale for $199.99 and I couldn't be more happier. I bought it for music listening and the bass is really accurate without any distortion, even at high volumes. It is not too boomy drowning out the high frequencies and it looks nice in a room with black decor. I recommend keeping the volume at 3/4s. I also recommend upgrading to a quality cable. The free cable did not do the sub any justice. Get a Monster Bass 400 cable from Amazon and you will thank me later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best subwoofer ever!!! So I bought this sub and it messed up and I had to return it but I sent it in and JBL sent me a new one within 2 weeks. This sub sounds amazing. It really feels like a IMAX movie in my room. It also sounds amazing for music. I would recommend this sub to anyone looking for massive power and great sound. I had the 10" 150 watt JBL before and it sounded good but this 12" 400 watt is amazing. I have never heard such a great sound come from a sub that is this cheap. I plan on replacing my entire setup to all JBL. This sub turned my basic 5.1 sound system to a house shaking beast. You can bass out and knock pictures off the wall if you want or yoy can watch a movie like Jurassic World and feel like you are in the Andominousrexs path. Seriously, the greatest addition I have ever added to my sound system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Explosive!!!!!!!! If you give this product anything lower than a 5+ you don't know electronics or your setup is wrong. I have been in the awesome home audio business a long time and this subwoofer is worth every penny. It makes my house shake and neighbors visit just to see what im rocking. Movies on my 70in Plasma sound as if im on the set filming its simply crazy awesome quality! theater sound hands down is what you get from this subwoofer. I have this subwoofer paired up with Martin Logans baby so piece together your system dont by a kit thats a joke, spend the extra cash you will be thanking yourself all day and night!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KAAAA-BOOOOOM! Bolt everything to the walls..nail the furniture down and strap the kids ( or pets ) to the couch. This thing hits like a ton of lead! It does take some tweaking to get it to match the other speakers but once it's dialed in the difference is amazing. My living room is carpeted so it did tend to muffle the down firing design ( vent tube ) but once I got it up on some vinyl flooring it was game on! This is not for apartment living or neighbors living close by..this is for a system you can cut loose on with no one around. Truly incredible for the price..lets see if it lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I bought my ES250P in April and I love it. It's awesome! The low level bass is fantastic. I've been a fan of JBL for over a decade and they didn't disappoint with this powered subwoofer. To top it all off, I purchased mine, new, for 1/3 of the original price!

I have a media room that is 14x16 with a JBL 7.1 setup (2x ES80 + 4x ES10 + ES25C + ES250p) I bought in 2010. If I add another sub does it need to be another ES250p which is only available refurb for a high price compared to 2016 prices new?

Asked by: IcemanTX
To get the most sonically balanced result with the setup that you have right now, yes, it is advisable to get the ES250P if you are planning to go for a 7.2 setup.

Also I have 2 RCA in and I am running 2 ES250. Receiver has 2 out jacks. Do I need to get a splitter for the 2 jacks going in? Or just run one RCA to each sub from reciever left and right?

Asked by: rodnhouston
If your receiver is a surround sound system with sub output, you can set both ES250P subs to LFE in which case you would not have to connect to both the left and right inputs. That being the case, you can run one sub output to one sub and the other sub output to the other sub, and will not need a splitter at all.

Can you use this subwoofer with the JBL SB350 soundbar ?

Asked by: Mrlar007
This is a powered subwoofer, and must be connected to the subwoofer line output of a receiver/amplifier, wich SB350 doesn't have, using RCA cable and plugged into the wall outlet in order to function. So no, the ES250P is not compatible with SB350.

After months of searching for a suitable Bi-ampable speaker, I decided to go with the BIC-EV15 floorstanding speakers. These speakers have a frequency response of 24Hz- 20KHz and are power rated at 225 Watts RMS and 430 Watts peak. Considering JBL Sub. ?

Asked by: Gregg765
If you are looking for a Sub that would match the speakers that you currem=ntly have right now, you would need to consider the Amplifier/Receiver that you are going to connect the Sub into. The power handling of our Subwoofers won't matter as long as the amplifiers power output does not exceed the power handling of the speakers/subwoofers. To give you an example, a 7.2 channel receiver with 125W per channel power output can drive/power a speaker/subwoofer with 125W-500W power handling. However, the same receiver can still power a speaker/subwoofer with 120W and below power handling but with a high risk of speaker blow out.

If i connect this sub direct to my television , will it work ?

Asked by: jordi
Yes, theoretically, if your TV has an analog line level audio output, you can connect it to the line level input on the ES250P and it will work. However, there is a lot more to it than that. First, most people are connecting their sources (cable box, sat box, dvd player, etc.) directly to their TV using digital connections (HDMI). And many TV's are not able to convert that digital signal over to the analog output on the TV. So while you might be able to connect the sub to the analog output on your TV, it might not work as you would expect. You will have to check with your TV manufacturer to find out for sure. Also, a sub like this will be a bit of overkill. The TV probably puts out 5-15 watts of sound into really small speakers. This sub offers as much as 400 watts. A smaller powered sub would probably be more than enough for this type of setup. But again, yes, theoretically, it can and will work.
